Search Mineral County Court Records

Mineral County does not publish a separate county case-search database. The official court record path begins at the Colorado Judicial Branch Mineral County court page, which links to docket search, record requests, collections, payments, self-help, interpreter requests, ADA accommodations, probation, transcripts, and local notices. That hub is more reliable than looking for a local database because Mineral County Combined Court is part of Colorado's 12th Judicial District.

For a hearing date, use the public docket. For a document, certified copy, or Register of Action, use the Colorado Judicial Branch Record/Document Request Form. For county administrative records or sheriff records, use the Mineral County CORA/CCJRA request form instead of the court form. For a Colorado-only criminal history check, use CBI ICHC, but remember that CBI criminal history is not the same as a Mineral County court case file.

1. Open the Mineral County court hub and confirm that the matter belongs to Mineral County or the 12th Judicial District.
2. Use docket search first when the goal is a hearing date, appearance type, case number, or courtroom.
3. Submit the court record request form when copies, certification, a Register of Action, or case documents are needed.

Mineral County Court Records Search Fields

The public docket form is the best free search tool for public Mineral County court record leads. It does not attach pleadings or orders. It helps identify the case number, court type, date range, party name, attorney, and hearing setting so a request to the Clerk of Court can be more precise. The docket page states that at least one filter in addition to date is required.

The CoCourts statewide search is described by its public page as a Colorado Judicial Branch initiative and partner Register of Action service. It is not a Mineral County government portal. Its own description says sealed cases are not available, juvenile and probate cases are not included, and public displays omit non-public information such as Social Security numbers and street addresses.

Types of Mineral County Court Records

Mineral County court records come from both District Court and County Court. District Court handles civil cases in any amount, felonies, domestic relations, juvenile matters, probate, mental health, and appeals from County Court. County Court handles misdemeanors, traffic infractions, criminal traffic, small claims, civil cases under $25,000, felony complaints before transfer, and protection orders. Because Mineral County is a small 12th Judicial District county, those case types are served through the same local court address and Clerk of Court structure.

Some records are searched by hearing date, while others require a document request. The form's document choices show the practical split: civil users may request orders for judgment, transcripts of judgment, satisfactions, and protection orders; criminal users may request complaint or information documents, disposition and sentence orders, protection orders, tickets, and the Register of Action. Probate and juvenile records can appear as case types but may require identification or be restricted.

What Mineral County Court Records Show

Public docket results show calendar-level data. A full court record or Register of Action shows more. A Register of Action is a chronological case summary that may include filings, hearings, minute orders, charges, sentences, and case events. A certified copy is different from a plain copy because the Clerk of Court certifies it for official use. Mineral County court records may also contain redacted or withheld data when privacy rules apply.

Public Access to Mineral County Court Records

Court records are governed by court access rules rather than ordinary county CORA intake. The Judicial Branch access guide for public records states that court-system public records are open for inspection at reasonable times under Chief Justice Directive 05-01 and the Supreme Court P.A.I.R.R. rules. Restricted Mineral County Court Records

Not every Mineral County court record is open to general public search. Juvenile records have special restrictions, and the request form warns that juvenile records may require government photo ID. Sealed records are hidden from public view but still exist for authorized users. Probate records may include protected information and may require ID. Adoption and mental health records should not be treated as ordinary public lookups.

The Judicial Branch sealed case search confirms only automatic sealing under C.R.S. 13-3-117. It does not prove that every other sealing route has or has not occurred. CBI also excludes sealed cases, juvenile records, warrants, and some juvenile traffic arrest data from public ICHC results. A person dealing with a sealed Mineral County case should work through the case court and the Clerk of Court, then ensure agencies such as CBI receive any signed sealing order when required.

Mineral County Court Record Requests

The local Clerk of Court contact is the practical fallback when the docket is not enough, when a case number is unclear, or when a record may be older, probate, juvenile, suppressed, or restricted. The court record request form says responses are normally provided within three business days unless extenuating circumstances apply. Fees include $0.25 per page, a $20 certified or exemplified copy fee per document, a $25 transcript of judgment, a $20 certificate of satisfaction, a $5 name search, actual off-site retrieval cost, and $30 per hour for research or redaction after the first hour.
