Request Certified Court Copies

Certified court copies are used when a plain copy is not enough. A divorce decree, disposition and sentence order, transcript of judgment, satisfaction, or probate document may need certification for legal, agency, or filing use. The statewide court request form includes a checkbox for certified or exemplified documents, and the research lists a $20 certified or exemplified copy fee per document.

  1. Identify the case number if possible. If unknown, collect the party names, case type, filing year, and date of birth for the primary party if known.
  2. Open the Judicial Branch record/document request form and choose Mineral County as the county or location of the record.
  3. Select the document type, such as Register of Action, disposition, ticket, decree, judgment, probate letters, will, trust, petition, or order.
  4. Check the certified or exemplified option when an official copy is required.
  5. Submit the request and wait for the Clerk of Court response, which is normally provided within three business days unless extenuating circumstances apply.
